I was there for the benchmark and then launch of ARR. What sold me on preordering ARR was how the team put in all of this effort to sort out the catastrophic launch of 1.0. Well that, and the ARR trailer blew me away (❤️ Answers). We need more people like Yoshi-P and Koji Fox in this industry. Thank you so much for putting together such a fantastic documentary! This is such a great documentary.

This game was so amazing. Like you're playing god but also tamagotchi with a creature which also have some AI and you fight other gods so it has kindof a strategy game, all in one game. It even had a Multiplayer over LAN and I guess Internet (which meanwhile is obviously deactivated). I still bought copies of it, just to replay it. Can we just start a kickstarter campaing to buy off those rights from EA and Microsoft?

Preservation of this media is so important, and by the time most people realize this it will likely be too late to save a lot of it. So THANK YOU for all the hard work you're putting into this project! I've been blown away by how good some of this stuff looks, and it's the best quality I've ever seen some of this footage displayed in. Can not wait to see what else you find!

They played XIV once at release in like 2010, saw it was terrible, and then never played it again. Playing the game in Early Access blew my mind

Arkane are kind of, hm... at the right time in the wrong place. Because for such art and nuance every moment is right. But the place is almost always is wrong - industry conditions, the geography, the "public", the genre etc... I try to think backwards could there be an environment when they could really prosper? Maybe sony associated japanese studios in 90s? but even then it was largerly sequel focused industry when it comes to one studio output. except the likes of looking glasses, oh, wait...

this was the only noclip video I haven't watched, because out of respect for arkane i hoped i'd get to this game one day. well, i did, sadly due to the grim news. the game is superb, doc is great too. i wish raf and some of talented designers and engineers will have another shot with a decent budget. not because of visual fidelity, but because of luxury of time and collaboration mastery it takes to build these worlds and systems in detail.

That ending was pure poetry. Oh! And the puppet idea is actually out of this world 😍

Really interesting looking back at this now that we know they started working on Hades 2 not long after.
